I ntroduction Welcome to the eighth blog post for the IMD3901 Term Project! This post will cover my group's progress in the past week, including modelling the raft environment. Challenges I did not have any major challenges faced this past week that I couldn't overcome. One issue I had was in the creation of the terrain of the raft environment. The way I had the faces set up was incredibly uneven and I realized that I needed to start over so that all the faces of the terrain could have a more consistent distance and have similar sizes the whole way through. I also had a minor issue in creating the navmesh of the terrain. I had the navmesh as its own object in maya, but the existing terrain as a reference. The first time I created the navmesh, I accidentally deleted some portions of the final terrain, leading to to have to start over again. Other than that, all my tasks were clear, and I got them all done within the timeline I gave myself. Successes My biggest success was the cr...

Introduction Welcome to the seventh blog post for the IMD3901 Term Project! This post will cover my group's progress in the past week, including the beta presentation, and more modelling work done by me. Challenges The main challenge experienced by me in the past week was the fact that some of the textures for my models were not properly loading in Circles. I did some troubleshooting, and manually recreated the shader nodes for my models, the easel, chair, and palette. While doing that did not work, I tried downloading a Maya gltf exporter plug-in to help, but unfortunately that did not work either. Eventually, I exported them as fbx files, which got the job done to work in the file. Another issue encountered was that my raft models were not centered in the interaction section of the scene. After going back and forth, I was able to get each of the 6 models centered within the interaction screen, so it looked right on screen. Successes My main success this week was the modelling of ...

Introduction Welcome to the sixth blog post for the IMD3901 Term Project! This post will cover my group's progress in the past week, as we keep working on the assignment. Challenges Like the week prior, the biggest challenge this week was lack of time. I had to focus on other classes/assignments for most of the week, including A3 for this class. The rest of the group also had limited time, but that did not mean we had no time at all. We were still able to meet and go over our plans for the week ahead, and made good progress on the game in terms of interactions. Thankfully, the week ahead will be less hectic, and I will be able to focus on more modelling. Successes One main success this week was the creation of 3 frame models for use within the studio environment. These will add to the atmosphere of the original painting, which has frames scattered throughout the walls. As well, another success was planning out my work for next week. As we are moving on to the second environment, I ...

Introduction Welcome to the fifth blog post for the IMD3901 Term Project! This post will cover my group's progress in the past week, as we start working toward the beta test/presentation. Challenges The biggest challenge this week was lack of time. With a test, a midterm, and multiple other assignments due during this past week and this coming week, it was very hard to find time to get work done on the project. As a result, I did not get as much work done on this than I have in the previous weeks, and the same was true for the rest of the group. However, progress was still made on the project, which is good. I would have liked to get some models for wall frames, but unfortunately I couldn't get that done. That will be a priority this coming week, along with finding more pre-made models we can use for the various scenes, and potentially editing the textures to better suit the environments we are recreating. Successes There were still some successes this week, such as the communc...
