IMD 3901 Term Project - Blog Post 10
Introduction
Welcome to the tenth mid-project blog post for the IMD3901 Term Project! This post will cover my progress in the past week, focusing on VR navigation and setting up circles
Challenges
Because I have focused solely on modelling for the project so far, I had not got the chance to fully set up circles on my laptop. It took multiple hours for me to get it working, as there were issues with MongoDB not being in the right place, as well as ngrok not working properly. Eventually, I got circles working, and was able to enter into the virtual gallery. The focus leading up to Friday will be successfully implementing the VR controls, for moving and picking up objects.
Successes
The main success was that after all of the trial and error, I finally got circles working on my laptop, for use testing and finishing up. As well, I was able to find VR resources for A-Frame, to help with the testing and coding I would be doing. I feel confident in getting it finished for the presentations on Friday, and with the VR headset, have the ability to do the testing right away.
Time Spent on the Project
I spent around 3-4 hours on the project this week, mostly focusing on troubleshooting the Circles setup.
